a few more things before i retire for the night:
i just watched, for the first time, Fong Sai Yuk . the first one. it has the incomparable Jet Li as Fong Sai Yuk. but even BETTER, in my opinion, is the fact that the villain of the piece, the evil Governor person, is the one and only Vincent Zhao Wen Zhuo. he's the hottie who plays Li Jiang Jun on my beloved Hua Mu Lan [also starrting Anita Yuen Wing Yi, also the object of much ridicule from my plebian friends, who have never seen it and therefore never realised the immense attraction of watching Zhao Wen Zhuo in period costume...-fans self-] the movie was carried entirely by the madness and the acting skills of the aforementioned men, plus the zaniness of Fong Sai Yuk's 'mother' - Siao Fang Fang. she's amazing. =) since it is, of course, a chinese movie, and therefore predictable in plot lines and devices, leaving the breathtaking action scenes to carry the day...[and, of course, the attractive guys fighting each other...] so...those who have yet to see this movie, i reccomend you rush out and consume. [-bows to eunice- you are superior to me in judgement, you saw this movie before i did despite my obsession with Zhao Wen Zhuo...i have no excuses to give.]
the movie blew my mind, i'm not sure what else i had to say. hmm.
looking forward to going dancing tomorrow night: Yoko Noge will be here with her awesome band to play live music for Java Jive, and there will be much music and random dancing all over Ida Noyes tomorrow as we attempt to banish the midwinter blues.
goodnight everyone. =)
